Reaching out for Christ (re-post)

Wisdom cries out in the streets; she cries aloud in the trains and on the motorway.  She streams through the sunlight and penetrates through the rain.  She importunes us for attention and for reverence.  She speaks to us through the words of strangers and the voices of friends.  She is buried deep in the earth; she is valued more than rubies and more than any longed-for item.

While others are getting what they think they want, get wisdom.  You can be kind and pass on objects that you own, but you are passing on jewels of eternal value when you pass on wisdom.  How do you pass it on without seeming like a know-it-all?  Live it.  Live wisely and well.  Verbalise your decisions; articulate the dangers of paths you are not taking.  Speak with all seriousness because you might easily make the mistakes that you see others making.  We can SEE others making mistakes.  We don’t see our own.  Allow others to point them out.  Listen to them.  Act on the truth that you have found, otherwise you lose it.

Daddy, I long for wisdom.  I long for your Son.  I long for the indwelling that puts an end to all mistaken paths.  There is a way that seems right to you but it ends in death.  I do not fear that path because I know where wisdom dwells.

We do not know the value of wisdom.  We do not have scales to measure it.  There is not a FTSE index on which to rate it.  You try to grasp it and it chases away from you.  But if you are still, and humble, and contrite: if you are thankful and patient and spend time in Daddy’s presence, then it will come to you and plant itself in you and grow tall and fragrant plants in you.  To fear Him, and yet to run to Him, is wisdom.  To tremble in his presence, but to linger in his presence.

Don’t walk away today.  Don’t leave him.  Stay with him, and stay in him.  With all your getting, get understanding.  Drool for wisdom.  Get on your knees to hunt out the higher thoughts and the higher ways.  He is near to all who call on him.  He is wisdom.

About stayingfaithful

I am looking for anything that relates to life and to a fuller life. I am bored by the normal and the natural and interested in the supernatural. There must be more than this. We were put on this earth for more than a nine to five prison, as someone said a few years ago.
