Blood, oil, crosses – signs and wonders

This is a fascinating window into the healing revival in America through an issue of the Miracle Magazine, 1956.  The revival library have made available an entire run of these magazines to stir faith for healing and revival, and from the look of this single magazine, they contain both encouraging and thought-provoking commentary on revival, as well as photographs and stories of healings.

About stayingfaithful

I am looking for anything that relates to life and to a fuller life. I am bored by the normal and the natural and interested in the supernatural. There must be more than this. We were put on this earth for more than a nine to five prison, as someone said a few years ago.

  1. We had a good and interesting prayer meeting at the Beehive last night. Many discerning points were raised. Hearts were stirred for truth to be revealed and declared in places of authority. There was also the strongest desire to pray against certain changes to the laws in the UK, that if allowed to go ahead would seriously change the shape and future of our nation. I’m sure others will fill you in. It was fitting to read your post this morning and feel a rise in my spirit that we, as churches and a nation are once again being called to serious, earnest prayer for souls. Often, far removed from experiential knowledge of revival and major healing, we can fall prey to the voice that whispers, ‘do they really happen’?, ‘is your God really with you’. The Israelites were bombarded with all kinds of surreptitious shenanigans when rebuilding the wall. It was great leadership, excellent strategy and planning, and the involvement of everyone that won the day. The enemy always steps up his opposition when he sees God’s people rising to the challenge to pray earnestly, however, I believe we will see results, and many miracles of salvation if we would humble ourselves once more and pray … with THANKSGIVING. To cry out, as so many have done before, to engage with the Father as Jesus did, and do the things we see and hear Him already doing. Not to attempt to replicate something that has gone before, but herald in a new thing.
We give daily thanks for the Spirit-filled guidance and leadership we have in KingsGate.

Thanks it is in the high places that the power of Jesus is restricted through human agreement or denial. And sometimes I just feel like a cheat when I talk about the power of God because we are not seeing it. Yet we do, and the ‘testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy’. Stir us up God so that we call on Your name. Preach your word to our hearts so that we rise up like flames and blaze for you. Enkindle the sparks in every believer in this nation, and help us to throw off all the things that entangle us, and help us to intercede that you and your laws are honoured and vouched for in this land. Your mercy is wider than our most severe transgression, and your cross high enough to overwhelm the mire of our fallenness. Keep us pushing and crowding and gasping and loving at the foot of that cross, Lord, pointing to it with our lives and our mouths.

      • Amen! Love it – thanks Ben – and now to return to the rather ordinary as I do some chores. But then, God is in the ordinary too … and always available for a spot of intercession.
